"Why does Saigon never sleep at night? How can I feel good when nothing's right? Vietnam You don't give answers, do you friend? Just questions that don't never end." These lines are in the song " Why, God Why? " from Miss Saigon, a musical that I've recently caught the bug off. Honestly, nothing feels better than relating to such a masterpiece in every aspect, from the settings to the emotions expressed by Chris, the character singing this song. Decades have passed since the historical context of the musical, yet its atmosphere still lingers among the very corners of Saigon. The city never sleeps at night, with the roaring sounds of traffic, the bustles from street vendors, and the chattering night diners toasting their beers. A December night

Obsidian sky, Pacific cold snaps Glaze backyard grass and graze frontyard glass. Nightlamp’s soft glow, fireplace roars, I slide my fingertips across the keyboard, lingering on the ivory tabs. Yet, the keyboards are jammed, and melodies are entangled Like laugher trapped in clenched teeth as the cold pricks. So I turn to A minor staccato , then accelerando A tribute to crystalline birches and snowy rail tracks. One step ahead

As a chubby person, I find running intimidating. Whenever I run, my heartbeat rockets, and a mere minute later, I could barely breathe. However, as much as I feared P.E classes in high school, I adore walking. Whenever I arrive at a new place, the first thing I do is find a new trail or path to exploring the areas around me. Sometimes I would stumble upon a grassy trail with warbles circling or a lovely boardwalk by the sea. If I stay in a bustling city where trails are scarce, I just meander near the sidewalks, often with an ice cream on hand, gazing at the twinkling lights and roaring traffic. Regardless of where I walk, I feel unplugged from all of the worries in my daily life and just let my thoughts go with the wind. I spent the first 14 years of my life in Saigon, a metropolis in southern Vietnam. As the city was renowned for its hectic lifestyle, with concrete jungles and mopeds honking from dawn till dusk, I was fortunate to live in a relatively quiet neighborhood. ...
